Campus Street Project Information

The purpose of the Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (MCORE) Project is to create a more sustainable transportation system that works better for all modes of transportation, while improving critical linkages and basic infrastructure. This is a collaborative effort by the project partners including City of Champaign, City of Urbana, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District.

PROJECT 4 UPDATE
MCORE Project 4

MCORE Project 4 construction started in March with lane and sidewalk closures on Armory Avenue and Wright Street. The full project corridor includes Armory Avenue (between Fourth Street and Wright Street) and Wright Street (between Armory Avenue and Springfield Avenue).
A map of accessible entrances and sidewalk areas for facilities on the Main Quad bordering Wright Street and a project map are available on the F&S website.

The work will occur in phases with an expected completion date of December 2020. We appreciate your patience and understanding of temporary inconveniences in the area as MCORE will ultimately provide for a more sustainable and connected community. For questions, contact Stacey Delorenzo, 217-300-1750.
