Bike Share – Fleet Management
University bike share partner Veo has started collecting its Class 2 e-bikes across campus and the cities for its annual winter management and maintenance program. The tentative relaunch for most of the bike fleet is scheduled for March 2026.
A select number of bikes will be left on campus for students, faculty, and staff to use through the end of the year. For questions or to leave feedback, contact Veo customer service. Further information about bike sharing is available on the Bike at Illinois website.
Bike Safety Quiz
Developed by Ride Illinois explicitly for the campus community, the U. of I. Bike Safety Quiz strives to teach everyone how to share the road safely. You can take three different levels of the quiz, each with a distinct focus area, such as dedicated bike safety or driver’s education.
Protect Your Bike Year-Round
Per the University Bicycle Ordinance, bicycle registration is mandatory for all bicycles parked or operated on campus. As winter break nears, ensure your bicycle is safeguarded by joining 529 Garage’s national database registration system. Once registered, owners can pick up a 529 Shield (registration decal) at various locations. The decal acts as a visible theft deterrent and dramatically increases the chances that a stolen or lost bicycle can be recovered.
