Homecoming 5K and Parade

Official 2023 Homecoming activities begin on Sunday, October 15, at 10 a.m., with the Illinois Homecoming 5K Race. The starting line will be on the Anniversary Plaza behind the Illini Union, with participants making two loops around both the Main Quad and South Quad before heading toward the Alice Campbell Alumni Center.

The race route will temporarily impact sections of Mathews Avenue, Oregon Street, Goodwin Avenue, Gregory Street, and Illinois Street. 

PARADE ROUTE
The annual Homecoming Parade is Friday, October 20, at 5:30 p.m. The parade will get underway at the intersection of Kirby Avenue and Fourth Street before heading west on Gregory Drive and turning south on First Street. Parking will be available in Lot E-14. Because of parade activities, please check the MTD website (https://mtd.org/maps-and-schedules/routes) for updated bus routes and schedules on campus during that period.
