John Street between First Street and Second Street will be closed for approximately 15 months.
To facilitate construction at 105 and 106 E. John Street, crews will close John Street between First Street and Second Street. The closure will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will reopen on January 2, 2028 (~15 months). During the closure, through traffic will not be allowed; however, access will be maintained to all local properties.
The City of Champaign appreciates the cooperation of travelers in the area and encourages caution when traveling through work zones.
