Street Closures and Parking for Illini vs. UAB

Sep 02, 2026 | 9:26 am

Please be aware of the closures and lot adjustments for a Thursday 8 p.m. kickoff time.

Illini football players run out on the field at Gies Memorial Stadium.

The Illinois vs. University of Alabama at Birmingham game on Thursday, September 3, at 8 p.m., will cause various road closures and parking adjustments before kickoff. Please use caution when traveling on campus: watch for increased pedestrian and vehicular activity because of gameday parking pass and purchase lots, especially around Gies Memorial Stadium, State Farm Center, Research Park, and nearby F&S locations. For complete gameday information, visit FightingIllini.com.

Please note that street closures will adjust pre- and postgame traffic flow routes. There are many changes this year because of new protocols to and from football parking lots. Please review the massmail message sent yesterday and the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics football parking maps for road closures and additional information.

Lot E14 Parking Adjustments

Lot E14 (designated football parking Lot 32 and Lot 33) will open on Thursday at 7 a.m. NOTE: Recreational vehicles will be allowed to park in the south section of Lot E14 (Lot 33) beginning today at 6 p.m. Read more football parking information here. Parking meter availability in various areas around Gies Memorial Stadium will also be reduced starting at noon.  For university-related transportation questions, contact Stacey DeLorenzo sdeloren@illinois.edu, 217-300-1750.
