Fire Extinguisher Training

F&S and the Champaign and Urbana Fire Departments offer fire training that introduces participants to the basic elements of fire extinguisher usage. There is an applied portion of the course, often including a simulator demonstration of the proper method of using an extinguisher to extinguish a fire. Attendees get to extinguish digitally simulated fires and have other hands-on training. Registration is open to U. of I. students and staff. Walk-ins will also be considered based on occupancy of the space.
Training sessions are considered a university-approved event. Contact F&S Code Compliance & Fire Safety for questions, registration assistance, or to request an accommodation.
