Free fire extinguisher training sessions return to campus this fall. F&S and the Champaign and Urbana Fire Departments will introduce participants to the basic elements of fire extinguisher usage. There is an applied portion of the course, often including a simulator demonstration of the proper method of using an extinguisher to extinguish a fire. Attendees get to extinguish a digitally simulated fire and have other hands-on training. Registration is open to U. of I. students and staff. Walk-ins will also be considered based on occupancy of the space.
Training sessions are considered a university-approved event. Contact Code Compliance & Fire Safety for questions, registration assistance, or to request an accommodation.
