Building Services – Winter Break Reminders

Please remember that over the winter break, the schedules for most building service workers (BSWs) will also be adjusted per the campus holiday schedule and locked statuses for specific facilities. Consult the Daily Event Summaries and Building Hours page for facility scheduling updates.

Holiday Parties and Trash Pickup

Departments are asked to coordinate with a Building Services supervisor regarding any precleaning or trash pickup for holiday events or gatherings. This is especially important for activities scheduled in the evening or on the weekends, which may create the need for more timely support. Please remember to assist BSWs by utilizing conference room and shared space receptacles to help expedite and ensure complete trash removal.

Restroom Dispenser Modernization Initiative – Upcoming Buildings

Starting Monday, January 5, 2026, new toilet paper, hand towel, and soap dispensers will be installed in the restrooms and laboratories of 40 additional campus facilities. The process is expected to be completed in several weeks for the buildings in this phase. The dispensers in this set are more durable and are often utilized in high-traffic areas, such as airports, conference centers, stadiums, and arenas. Participating vendors have performed walkthroughs of the restrooms to get an accurate count of the dispensers in each facility, along with taking precise measurements to ensure the specific designs fit appropriately in existing locations.
